Well my opinion on it is…. some people don’t have the time or knowledge to build one. Others take pride in saving ones that would probably never see a show again. I personally don’t care either way as long as they’re still out there being shown and not in someone’s backyard or barn rotting away. Buy them all. Or build them all. Both is cool with me.

Minitruck PASSIONATE enthusiast here.. my two cents is you hit it on the head. I have nothing but love for everyone in this life. Whether you are a fabricator or somebody like me who isn’t, but has always dreamed of owning trucks like I have today..the smile on my face when I get to share them with everybody out at shows is the payoff.

I’ll keep taking good care of the work created by the hands and imaginations of amazing builders, and everyone can see the work put into them when I cart them to shows across the US. It’s a win all around in my book.

This subject has been talked about extensively and at great length since my return to this hobby with everyone I meet. Personally, I think the issue lies with the fact that the majority of mini truckers build and drive their creations and get next to no recognition for their efforts.

They buy the shirts, attend the events, and 90% of the awards are all aimed at finished rides, which are pretty much a “bought and paid for” situation because they are near complete and finished in every way. I think your one sentence sums up my point well:-- In addition, I think we all agree that anyone who essentially built their own truck or performed the majority of work on their ride definitely deserves the credit for going above and beyond……

But there’s one under-construction award, that’s it. I know we all say we aren’t here for the trophies, but every minitruck show proves that to be a lie by ending every show with awards. It's human nature to want to be accepted and respected by your peers, so it's only fitting a little jealousy will arise. This was a great read, appreciate you! #dragdailey

Hey, thank you very much for reading this and taking the time to comment… You bring up a really great point and my buddy and I have talked extensively about this over the years. I actually love seeing the under construction rides just as much if not more than finished rides, but to your point, they always don’t get the recognition they deserve… Maybe that’s something that show promoters can think more about in terms of creating a few more words for people that are showing the progress

My brother, thank you very much for taking the time to read this and to comment… I was blown away when I clicked on this and saw four or five comments I really didn’t think that that many people will take the time to do it and it’s very nice that you and others did

I personally don't care if you built or bought your ride. I go to a lot of shows, I never win an award, mine is bought and being build, I'm in both categories lol. I really don't go to the shows for the awards, I go for what they represent and even better what they are supporting. What does it matter if you didn't build, some don't have the skill or time to do so, they have the money to have it done. Those who build have the skill to do so ( sometimes lol ) but not the funds to pay someone, and they enjoy the challenge. Either way we get to see some nice rides. Can't we all get along!!
